| Description The scarce large blue (Maculinea telejus) is a lycaenid butterfly species with a disjunct distribution throughout Eurasia that can be found mainly in mountainous areas. The larvae, in a symbiotic relationship, are attended by 4 species of ants belonging to the genus Myrmica. The adults can be seen flying in mountains grasslands.
